On Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th March a team of experts from London Metropolitan University visited Nelson College in order to carry out two important tasks. The first was to review how the College had been delivering programmes of study validated by the University for delivery by the College 鈥 namely two Foundation Degrees (in Business & Hospitality Management) and two 鈥榯op-up鈥 programmes to convert Pearsonvalidated HNDs into London Met-validated Bachelor鈥檚 degrees. The second was to validate two taught Master鈥檚 degrees: one in International Business (Management) and one in International Business (Hospitality Management). Since you鈥檝e been away, the college has undergone a QAA review, and received its Office for Students (OfS) registration. A message from the 水宜坊: The College is delighted to announce that 水宜坊 is one of the first for-profit private colleges and one of the leading providers of career-focused higher education in East London that has achieved registration status from the Office for Students. Announcing this news, Nelson College Principal Professor Geoffrey Alderman explained that this registration 鈥渕eans that the College meets Office for Students requirements for course quality, academic standards, student support, student protection and more.鈥 As an OfS-registered higher-education provider, Nelson College will be able to charge fees up to the highest level approved by the Department for Education 鈥 just over 拢9,000 per annum. These visits aim to conduct a review of our centre-wide quality assurance systems against the Quality Objectives and Measure framework in order to provide judgements and feedback. This process is undertaken to safeguard the safe certification of BTEC qualifications.鈥 The College received a report outlining the outcomes of the visit, which detailed that no essential actions or recommendations were made as a result of the review. The College is pleased with this result, and hopes to continue operating under rigorous and transparent systems and procedures.
